Guidepost Montessori in Broadlands, Virginia is located just off the Dulles Greenway and north of Brambleton. We offer a diverse array of AMS-certified Montessori programs for students in preschool through 6th grade.
Our school was originally established in the Broadlands community in 2002 and has operated under the Guidepost Montessori network since 2019. We are committed to providing a high-quality education that inspires each child's individual spirit of inquiry. We do this by creating an engaging environment where students have the opportunity to explore, discover, and develop skills through hands-on learning experiences.
At Guidepost Montessori, we offer:
A comprehensive academic program with rigorous standards in literacy and math as well as science and social studies; a wide range of enrichment programs including art, music, PE, and a robust extended day program.
Our school community is committed to diversity and inclusivity. We welcome students of all backgrounds, cultures and abilities into our classrooms so that everyone can learn from one another. We are also committed to giving back to the community by partnering with local organizations and are proud to participate in a composting program led by our elementary students.

Changing the world, one student at a time
We are a school where children find the joy in learning — and thus make it possible for them to continue learning for the rest of their lives.
To think mathematically.
To solve problems.
To create things.
To encounter great literature that inspires their character development.
To build themselves as capable, efficacious beings.
To place themselves in history and in society.
To spark meaningful friendships and deep personal values that last a lifetime.
Our goal at Guidepost Montessori is to serve each individual child, to help them realize their limitless potential, and the opportunities they will have to create real and lasting change throughout their lifetime.
Hear from our Broadlands Families
We love this school. My older one had been attending this school for more than 3 years, all teachers are nice, and he learned a lot here. He made so many wonderful friends here, we are so blessed we found this place. When our little one turned 2 years old, we didn't even think of any other place, we knew that Guidepost Broadlands is our best choice. Guidepost community makes you feel like a big family. We love this school, and highly recommend it to you, too.
"We love it here!"
Great school! We've gone to 2 of the Guidepost (formerly LePort) schools and our son has been very happy at both! The Broadlands school is a larger school, supporting kids from 18 months to 12 years of age, but it still feels cozy and everyone knows each other's names. Guidepost is one of the only schools that is actually AMS (American Montessori Society) certified -- there are a lot of fakes that say they are Montessori, but they aren't! I've studied Montessori (and even wrote my Master's thesis on it) - and Guidepost follows Maria Montessori's teachings very closely. Don't waste your money on a Montessori school that isn't actually AMS or AMI (Association Montessori International) certified!
The teachers are great - care about the work that they do, and I think they are happy at the school. That translates into great care and learning for the students and a very loving atmosphere. We love it here!
"Our experience at Guidepost could not have been better!"
Our experience at Guidepost could not have been better! Having taught at a number of preschools, I was very impressed with how well run the school is. The communication is consistent and very clear, the staff are all so friendly and welcoming, and the school-wide events were so fun for our whole family.
The facility is beautiful, the community has been so wonderful, and the instruction is quality. We're so glad that we stumbled on Guidepost in 2018 and continue to be impressed by the school with each passing month!
