A Letter from the Head of School, Alba Olivas

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Community of Guidepost Montessori at Eldorado! As a mom of 2 children under 7, I know the importance of finding exceptional care for your child.

At Guidepost, we offer a high-quality Montessori education in a child-centered, nurturing environment, which is beyond day care or day school. Our single focus is to teach children foundational skills that they will carry on and build upon for the rest of their lives through a personalized curriculum that advances with the child at their unique pace. It is our mission to empower and equip your child with the knowledge, confidence, and agency needed to reach their highest potential. All this learning goes on in our “prepared environment:” spaces that are clean, bright, calm, and warm, where children truly thrive, with our dedicated and continually trained Guides (teachers) ready to give your child a helping hand.

After spending 23 years in Montessori education, I know firsthand how important it is to start children off on the right foot by encouraging their sense of agency and instilling in them a love of learning. Starting from childcare-aged toddlers of just 16 months to preschool and kindergarteners. Each age offers its own unique set of developmental milestones, and the Montessori method addresses each one.

We are near the heart of McKinney at the intersection of Alma and Eldorado PKWY.

We’d love to introduce you and your family to the difference a Montessori education can make in their (and your) lives. Please don't hesitate to come by and see for yourself. I’d love to meet you, so feel free to reach out and book a tour or observation today!

I look forward to welcoming you and your child at Guidepost Montessori Eldorado!

Sincerely,

Alba Olivas, Head of School

Changing the world, one student at a time

We are a school where children find the joy in learning — and thus make it possible for them to continue learning for the rest of their lives.

To think mathematically.
To solve problems.
To create things.
To encounter great literature that inspires their character development.
To build themselves as capable, efficacious beings.
To place themselves in history and in society.
To spark meaningful friendships and deep personal values that last a lifetime.

Our goal at Guidepost Montessori is to serve each individual child, to help them realize their limitless potential, and the opportunities they will have to create real and lasting change throughout their lifetime.

Hear from our Eldorado Families

My daughter has been going to this school for more than a year now. They have got excellent study material and good teachers. Teachers have been great in helping kids and giving all around experience. I really like their transparency, it is not too modern but at the same time parents get to know what and how their kid is progressing. The staff at this school had been so helpful and the school has very few holidays, which is good for working parents. I'm happy to see her happy face to go to school every day and I strongly recommend Children's House at Guidepost Eldorado.

"I love watching him grow and excel"

My toddler has been in Montessori for a while, but recently transferred from another school in the infant program to Eldorado's toddler program. His teachers have helped him transition smoothly and have been very informative with staying in touch with me on how he is doing. I feel very comfortable leaving my baby with his teachers and I know he is in good hands. He is loving working with practical life and I love watching him grow and excel. The Transparent Classroom is easy to navigate and see the photos of your child throughout the day, and Smartcare is easy to sign your child in and out and very simple for billing. Thank you Guidepost Eldorado, and thank you Ms. Ana for working with our boy!

"Unlike any other Montessori schools around!"

Guidepost Eldorado has been a wonderful fit for my family. My 4-year-old is in Children's House here and is SO happy to go to school and "work" every day. His vocabulary, independence, and his interest in the world and art all began here. Their authentic Montessori methods are unlike any other Montessori schools around!
My daughter is in the toddler Spanish immersion classroom. We chose this school because of their Spanish program. Their lead guides are very warm and welcoming, but firm and loving. My toddler can understand fluent Spanish at 18 months of age, coming from a home that only speaks English. Hands down best Spanish toddler program in the area.

Language Immersion Options

Children under the age of six absorb language effortlessly, which is why we are pleased to offer bilingual environments. In our Spanish Immersion program, children learn both Spanish and English literacy skills, however, the prevailing language spoken throughout the day is Spanish. The overall emphasis on Spanish rapidly increases fluency, as children feel naturally compelled to communicate with their Spanish-speaking guides. Stay connected to your child's learning

Thanks to our app Transparent Classroom, you get a window into your child’s experience of school daily.

Your child’s Lead Guide will share what your child is learning and what their real-time assessments are - this way you can very closely follow your child’s development throughout the day, months, and years you stay within the Guidepost network. If you transfer from one of our locations to the next, your child’s progress and continuity will be tracked in the app and readily accessible. Read more about Transparent Classroom here.

In this app you will see important notes and milestones such as:

  • Daily toileting, eating (bottle feeding for infants), and sleeping habits
  • Curriculum introduction, progress, and completion
  • End of day summary of all activities
  • Notes such as bringing in more diapers or a new set of clothes
  • Reminders for upcoming classroom events like birthdays, holidays, or special occasions
