A Letter from the Head of School
Thank you for your interest in Guidepost Montessori at Marlborough. I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community of educators and families! I have worked in education for 16 years. During this time, I worked with children ages 0-10 in various roles.
Upon returning to my hometown of Marlborough to raise my own family, I discovered Guidepost Montessori and haven’t looked back. I am passionate about our method of teaching, which fully aligns with my beliefs as an educator. Our high-fidelity program and Montessori-certified teachers provide children with a great start.
As a public school teacher, I know firsthand how important it is to start kids off on the right foot by encouraging their sense of agency and instilling a love of learning. Starting from nursery-aged infants of just six weeks to preschool and kindergarten children, each age offers its own unique set of developmental milestones which the Montessori method addresses. Infants get opportunities to work on their gross motor skills, while older children start exploring materials designed to help them learn to read, write, and do math problems - frequently before the age of four. All of this learning goes on in our “prepared environment:” spaces that are clean, bright, calm, and warm, where children truly thrive, with our guides (teachers) ready to give a helping hand.
By far the best way to understand just how different we are from other daycares, preschools, and kindergartens around Marlborough is to tour our school and see it for yourself. I hope to see you soon!
- Dianna Cunningham, M.Ed. - Head of School, Guidepost Montessori at Marlborough

Changing the world, one student at a time
We are a school where children find the joy in learning — and thus make it possible for them to continue learning for the rest of their lives.
To think mathematically.
To solve problems.
To create things.
To encounter great literature that inspires their character development.
To build themselves as capable, efficacious beings.
To place themselves in history and in society.
To spark meaningful friendships and deep personal values that last a lifetime.
Our goal at Guidepost Montessori is to serve each individual child, to help them realize their limitless potential, and the opportunities they will have to create real and lasting change throughout their lifetime.
"The freedom to explore"
"Guidepost is a gem. So lucky to have it right here in Marlborough! We’ve been sending my son to their infant program since he was 4 months old. He was given the freedom to explore in a beautiful environment, with state-of-the-art toys and movement equipment, and most importantly caring and attentive teachers. He’s made so much progress and is beaming every time I drop him off! There’s truly a special culture. All the staff, not just your child’s teacher, will know your child and take the time to say hi to you and welcome you every time you enter the school. We’re so happy we’re here!" - Flannery K. Guidepost Montessori at Marlborough Parent.
"Guidepost has been a perfect fit"
"Our child started at Guidepost in January and it has been the perfect fit for him and for us. The care and attention to detail from staff and guides have been amazing. The communication has been prompt with their updates and they have been very quick whenever we have questions. The space is so spacious, open, and full of natural light. They have done a great job of helping parents feel involved and included even given the current circumstances. Could not recommend enough!" - Seath C. Guidepost Montessori Marlborough Parent.
"No ordinary education"
"Nothing greater than seeing a child light up with excitement when they are learning!!!! Montessori at Marlborough is so dedicated to each and every child and their family. Time and time again when I am there to observe I see the great work of each teacher and their dedication. The environment is so clean, so exciting and so special. This is no ordinary education, but remember your children are not ordinary!!! What a wonderful environment for all children." - Colleen W., Guidepost Montessori at Marlborough Parent.
