Changing the world, one student at a time

We are a school where children find the joy in learning — and thus make it possible for them to continue learning for the rest of their lives.

To think mathematically.
To solve problems.
To create things.
To encounter great literature that inspires their character development.
To build themselves as capable, efficacious beings.
To place themselves in history and in society.
To spark meaningful friendships and deep personal values that last a lifetime.

Our goal at Guidepost Montessori is to serve each individual child, to help them realize their limitless potential, and the opportunities they will have to create real and lasting change throughout their lifetime.

Hear from our Spruce Tree Families

If you live in the Raleigh area and are looking for a great preschool... STOP LOOKING. This is the place! We switched from another spot and came to Guidepost several months ago and couldn't be more happy. And to underline this point: our old preschool was a 3 min drive from our house, while this one is more like 25 min+ in traffic - but I will gladly sacrifice convenience and make this drive every day to make sure our little one stays here.

I was a rookie to the Montessori program before coming here, but after just a few months I'm a true believer. There are other Montessori schools in the area but I can't imagine going anywhere but here!

"Guidepost Montessori is the right place for you"

This school is not like other daycares, I even struggle with calling it a daycare (therefore I don't,) as it is so much more than that. My daughter was going to a stellar traditional daycare and was doing very well. As I was a Montessori child, we knew that we wanted to have our children have some Montessori education. She transitioned to Guidepost at 8 months and, my goodness, did we see a difference. We thought she was blossoming at her other daycare, but nothing compared to the happiness that we found in her immediately upon starting to attend here. There is not the level of chaos, disorder, or crying children as can be found at other places.

Words cannot describe how happy you and your child(ren) will be if you decide that Guidepost Montessori is the right place for you.
Montessori shapes a child's soul and teaches them skills and independence that he/she will use for their lifetime. This is exactly what Guidepost Montessori at Spruce Tree does.

"Words cannot begin to describe how blessed we are to have found Guidepost Montessori at Spruce Tree"

Words cannot begin to describe how blessed we are to have found Guidepost Montessori at Spruce Tree. We have had some unpleasant experiences with other local daycares and after visiting 10 different daycares in the area, we fell in "Love" with Guidepost as soon as we walked into the building. We came to Guidepost with very little understanding of the Montessori way, but our son has embraced the independent way of teaching that goes on within his classroom. The teachers in the toddler room are so patient, kind and loving and for the first time in 3 years our son runs to get into class. Our son has struggled with delays in speech and cognitive development but within one month at Guidepost we saw vast growth in all areas of communication. We cannot say enough great things about this preschool!! They really do care about each and every child and go to extreme lengths to make sure that every aspect of our son's experience here is wonderful! No doubt the best decision we have made as parents so far was to enroll our son at Guidepost Montessori at Spruce Tree!!!

Language Immersion Options

Children under the age of six absorb language effortlessly, which is why we are pleased to offer bilingual environments. In our Spanish Immersion program, children learn both Spanish and English literacy skills, however, the prevailing language spoken throughout the day is Spanish. The overall emphasis on Spanish rapidly increases fluency, as children feel naturally compelled to communicate with their Spanish-speaking guides. Stay connected to your child's learning

Thanks to our app Transparent Classroom, you get a window into your child’s experience of school daily.

Your child’s Lead Guide will share what your child is learning and what their real-time assessments are - this way you can very closely follow your child’s development throughout the day, months, and years you stay within the Guidepost network. If you transfer from one of our locations to the next, your child’s progress and continuity will be tracked in the app and readily accessible. Read more about Transparent Classroom here.

In this app you will see important notes and milestones such as:

  • Daily toileting, eating (bottle feeding for infants), and sleeping habits
  • Curriculum introduction, progress, and completion
  • End of day summary of all activities
  • Notes such as bringing in more diapers or a new set of clothes
  • Reminders for upcoming classroom events like birthdays, holidays, or special occasions
