New Virtual Enrichment Opportunities

This summer, we're excited to offer new, multi-week enrichment programs that can supplement any camp, travel, or other summer plans. These live, small group classes offer fun, learning, friendship and connection- and they're portable! Whether you're visiting family, traveling for fun, or simply staying at home this summer, the enrichment options will make it a summer to remember for your child.

Our proprietary program is developed by teachers and educators. It is intentionally designed to maintain a strong learning component that ensures children feel like they've learned something at the end of each week, while not compromising on having fun.

Summer Options

All classes meet twice per week for six weeks

Spanish - In this class your child will dive into both Spanish culture and Spanish language, increasing both their vocabulary and ear for the language. [Mon/Thurs 3:30-4:30 EST]

Write a Book - Has your child ever wanted to write their own book? In this class they will be able to create a story, write it, share it with others for feedback, add illustrations if they choose, and finally turn it into a finished product. [Mon/Thurs 3:30-4:30 EST]

Book Club for 4th-6th Grade Readers - Give your child the chance to enjoy reading great books this summer and discussing them with other students. They will also use their imaginations to engage in projects that bring the story to life. [Mon/Thurs 3:30-4:30 EST]

Yoga and Mindfulness - Treat your child to the benefits of slowing down, exploring movement, and relaxing. This class will help your child create a peaceful space in which to breath, move, and stretch, learning yoga poses and mindfulness techniques that can serve them throughout life. [Tues/Fri 3:30-4:30 EST]

FAQs

  • What makes a summer camp "Montessori"?

This summer camp has been designed with the Montessori approach to education in mind:

    • Freedom of choice — Students can work on projects freely can move from activity to activity on their own terms
    • A child-centered approach that encourages independent exploration — Children feel empowered by freedom of choice, and so pursue work that fascinates them. This helps the child develop concentration, willpower and independence
    • Experiential learning — Children learn best by doing things for themselves, so the summer camp program offers lots of opportunities for children to work with their hands
    • Faith that the child wants to learn — Montessori educators believe that children are happiest when they have the option to work on something meaningful, which is why summer camp places a strong emphasis on connecting themes to meaningful stories rooted in historic or cultural context
  • Who will lead the summer programs?
  • How does virtual summer camp differ from in-person summer camp?
