Constructive Triangles: Large Hexagonal Box

A detailed guide to understanding the Constructive Triangles: Large Hexagonal Box material and how it is used within the Early Years curriculum.

How does it work?

With the Constructive Triangles, the child explores how triangles relate to and can be the building blocks of other plane figures. The Large Hexagonal Box relates obtuse-angled triangles to equilaterals, to quadrilaterals, and to the hexagon. This material provides practice at visualizing and manipulating straight-sided figures in new ways, ones that will be applicable when the child studies equivalence and area in Elementary.

Prerequisite Skills - It is recommended that the child have worked with other Constructive Triangles prior to the Large Hexagonal Box.
